Clearing Reactive Memories of Stress

What This Is

Your body already knows how to heal. The question is whether it is free to do so.

To understand why it might not be, it helps to start with understanding something about stress — specifically, that there are two different kinds, and they don’t affect your body in the same way.

The first is current stress — the pressures you feel right now. Your workload. Your relationships. The news. The pace of daily life. Most people assume this is the stress that’s wearing them down, and so they focus on managing it. Meditation. Rest. Vacations. These things can help. But they’re addressing only part of the picture.

The second kind is older, and far more damaging: stored stress memories. Every significant stress your body has ever experienced — physical injuries, emotional traumas, chemical exposures, the effects of electromagnetic fields — leaves a residue in the nervous system. A pattern. A memory of the threat. And unlike current stress, these old patterns don’t resolve on their own. They stack up.

This is what Dr. Lawrence E. Newsum, D.C. discovered through decades of research. It is not your current stress that slowly erodes your health. It is the accumulation of old stored stress memories, silently running in the background, constantly triggering your nervous system as if the original threat were still present. Your body can only handle so much total stress before it begins to break down at the cellular level. When current stress is stacked on top of a mountain of stored reactive stress memories, the system becomes overwhelmed — and health begins to suffer.

Bio-Kinetics clears these old patterns. Using a small handheld neurological stimulation device called the NewStim — or gentle contact by hand — a precise impulse is directed to specific points in the upper neck region. This sends a signal through the nerve pathways to the brain to reset the stored pattern. When it clears, the nervous system shifts out of protection mode and back into healing mode. The body begins to do what it already knows how to do.

It is not a medical practice — it is not about treating or diagnosing anything. It is about clearing the neurological interference that has been getting in the way.

Old stored stress memories do much more damage to your health than anything else and slowly eat away your full health potential.

My Philosophy

What I came to understand through this work — and what I carry into every session — is that the body is intelligent. It has its own consciousness, its own memory. It will hold on to patterns that protect you, and it will trigger the nervous system to keep you safe. But when those patterns get stuck — when you were never able to move through something, never able to release it — the body keeps holding. And that holding has a cost.

We live in a constant state of fight-or-flight in some form, and the body spends enormous energy just holding it all together — keeping your ears level, your eyes level, your gait normal — while compensating for everything it has ever accumulated. That energy has to come from somewhere. It comes from the body’s reserves, and over time, it leads to depletion.

To me, Bio-Kinetics gives the chance and the space to release whatever is being held. When that happens, the nervous system can finally relax. And the body can begin to come back to itself.

Bio-Kinetics is about whether we use energy to protect ourselves or to heal ourselves.

Getting Started

You may notice things during a session — a sense of something releasing, breath deepening, the body settling. Some people feel changes right away. Others notice shifts in the days that follow.

People dealing with chronic discomfort, old injuries, emotional patterns, food or chemical sensitivities — or simply the sense that something is off — may be drawn to this work. It is also gentle enough for newborns, infants, and children.

A single session is a good way to experience it. Some people find that a series of sessions offers the most lasting support. We can talk about what makes sense for you.
